My name is McKenna.

I'm an American-Dutch writer and poet with a fascination for languages, linguistics, history, and sound. My background is in Descriptive Linguistics (Leiden University) and am currently studying Creative Writing at Oxford while also participating in the Brabant-based talent development program WOLK.

I regularly host courses in Creative Writing (often with a focus on writing fantasy) in both English and Dutch, and I also have years of experience teaching the Dutch language.

In my writing, and inspired by my own multicultural background, I like to explore new worlds that straddle boundaries, whether it be between fiction and reality, the ancient and the modern, the foreign and the familiar, etc. Some of my stories are miniature transportation devices, whereas some are built for time travel.
